Senior Engineer : Nuclear / Defence Civils
Permanent role
Salary: up to GBP55,000 / year + GBP5k car allowance or company car
Office location: Glasgow City Centre
MOD Project: Helensburgh
Must be able to achieve SC Clearance
Are you an experienced Senior Civil Engineer looking for a stable, long-term permanent role on a high-profile 10-year+ framework in Scotland? At Randstad, we are working with a massive construction and infrastructure contractor seeking a Senior Engineer to be based out of Glasgow.

Role Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Assisting site teams in the successful execution of project works.
- Providing engineering support and technical guidance at the point of delivery.
- Setting out and surveying using GPS and surveying equipment.
- Monitoring quality control standards across site operations.
- Locating and identifying buried services to support safe excavation and construction activities.
- Supervising subcontractors and monitoring compliance.
- Reviewing and understanding Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
- Assisting with temporary works activities and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
- Accurately recording and reporting site progress, issues, and engineering information.

Essential Requirements
- Must be able to get Security Clearance (SC).
- Experience working on civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of setting out techniques and engineering surveying practices, alongside GPS equipment and setting out instruments.
- Experience of quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of buried services location and safe excavation practices.
- Able to review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements within a construction environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365.
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- CAT and Genny

Desirable
- Working towards membership of a professional civil engineering institution
- NRSWA qualification.
- Temporary Works knowledge or experience.
- Relevant vocational qualifications in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
