Help shape the safety of tomorrow's critical defence technologies.
We're partnering with an innovative engineering organisation delivering highly complex systems into the UK defence sector.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to become the technical authority for Product and System Safety across a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge projects. This is an opportunity to work across the complete engineering lifecycle, influencing safety from concept through to certification whilst working alongside some of the industry's most experienced engineers.
If you're passionate about safety assurance, complex systems and solving challenging engineering problems, we'd love to hear from you. This role can be based near Heathrow or Weymouth with hybrid working.

- Leading Product and System Safety activities across multiple programmes
- Producing Safety Management Plans and Safety Cases
- Conducting Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis
- Carrying out Risk Assessments and Risk Evaluation
- Maintaining Hazard Logs throughout the project lifecycle
- Providing Product Safety input into bids and proposals
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation and standards
- Leading Safety Working Groups with internal and external stakeholders
- Producing high-quality technical documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement across safety processes
- Mentoring engineers and contributing to technical excellence
You'll ideally have experience in:
- Product Safety Engineering
- System Safety
- Safety Cases
- Functional Safety
- Hazard Analysis
- Hazard Identification
- Risk Assessments
- Def Stan 00-056
- IEC 61508
- CE and UKCA compliance
- Complex engineering systems

Ideally you'll also have experience within Defence, Aerospace, Maritime or another highly regulated engineering environment.
A degree in Engineering, Mathematics or a Science discipline is preferred. Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
