About The Role

Passionate about building great software and excited by what AI can bring to modern engineering? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Haven is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our talented Technology team, playing a pivotal role in shaping how we design, build and evolve the digital products behind memorable holidays for millions of guests.

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll be a “go to” person within your squad, bringing deep technical expertise to both hands-on delivery and the wider engineering approach. You’ll define how features get built, drive them through to completion, and help others grow along the way. Around 80% of your time will be hands-on engineering, with the remainder spent guiding, mentoring and shaping technical direction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who’s excited by the current AI-driven shift in software development, keen to embed AI capabilities across the engineering lifecycle, and eager to help evolve how a modern team plans, designs, builds and validates software.

Your Opportunity

  • Design and deliver well-crafted, tested and maintainable solutions across our digital estate
  • Make effective use of AI capabilities throughout the engineering lifecycle, continually evolving your practice as tools and techniques develop
  • Act as a technical “go to” for your squad, with a near-complete understanding of the systems you look after
  • Define the approach to features and drive them through to completion
  • Engage actively in product and engineering ceremonies, sharing ideas and constructively challenging assumptions
  • Support and enable more junior engineers through knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring
  • Drive continual improvement within your squad and the wider engineering team
  • Communicate progress, blockers and ideas clearly and openly
  • Simplify and continually improve Haven’s digital estate
  • Keep developing your own capability, taking advantage of internal development tools and opportunities

What We’d Like You To Bring

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
