Senior Engineer

Location: Wakefield
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + a well-rounded benefits package

KO2 Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business based in Wakefield in their search for an experienced, hands-on Senior Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a genuinely hands-on role for an experienced engineer who is just as comfortable at the machine or workbench solving a technical problem as they are mentoring, coaching, and developing others. First and foremost you'll bring strong, credible engineering skills — with the people skills to help build a stronger, more capable team around you.

The Role

You'll be a senior, hands-on presence within the Engineering function, designing and delivering practical, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions that support the business's product development, manufacturing, and strategic objectives.

You'll work hands-on across Engineering, Spray Painting, Automation, and Injection Moulding, helping to keep resources effectively integrated and optimized to achieve operational excellence. Alongside your own technical delivery, you'll support the continual review and development of departmental ways of working, driving continuous improvement, innovation, and performance — staying close enough to the work to lead by example, and close enough to your colleagues to help them grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
