Senior Engineer

Location: Acton, West London
Sector: Data Centres
Salary: £68,000 - £75,000 + Package

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading specialist contractor delivering a flagship hyperscale data centre development in West London.
This is a technically challenging scheme involving multiple data halls, associated infrastructure, substations and complex engineering packages. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day engineering delivery of allocated work packages, providing technical leadership throughout construction.

Role Overview

Reporting into the Project Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved designs and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading engineering delivery across allocated project packages.
  • Providing technical support to site and construction teams.
  • Coordinating engineering resources and design interfaces.
  • Managing RFIs, technical queries and engineering records.
  • Supporting temporary works coordination.
  • Monitoring engineering progress and identifying delivery risks.
  • Ensuring inspection and testing requirements are achieved.
  • Driving quality standards and reducing defects and rework.
  • Supporting construction sequencing and workface planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with approved specifications and engineering procedures.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Experience delivering engineering packages on major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Experience managing technical queries and engineering documentation.
  • Temporary Works awareness.
  • Data centre experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • CSCS Manager Card.
  • Working towards Chartered status desirable.
