Referment is working with an integration-infrastructure company building the secure layer through which AI agents connect to enterprise software and take governed actions.
This senior engineering role focuses on the control plane for agent tooling: enrolment, provisioning, policy, identity-bound access, posture and runtime enforcement. You will own production systems on the request path and help define how enterprises govern which agents can use which tools, scopes and data.
The Role
- Build lifecycle controls to enrol, grant, rotate and revoke access across managed authentication and connector profiles.
- Design policy authoring, versioning and runtime enforcement, including LLM-assisted policy generation.
- Develop posture assessment, risk signals, telemetry and anomaly-detection capabilities without compromising gateway latency.
- Extend OAuth 2.1, SSO and SCIM integrations so access remains tied to enterprise identity.
- Partner with engineering leadership, founders, security and platform engineers on technical direction.

What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience owning a production system end to end.
- Direct experience with an API gateway, MDM/UEM, EDR/XDR or a comparable policy-driven access platform.
- Experience building a policy or rules engine, including the distinction between expressing and enforcing policy.
- Practical depth in OAuth/OIDC, SAML, SSO, SCIM, scopes, grants, token lifecycle and least privilege.
- Familiarity with AI agents, MCP-style tooling and the governance risks created by agent access.
