About the Role
Want to join a leading international, independent real estate consultancy with an all together different approach? Our thriving M&E Engineering team are currently looking for a Senior or Associate Engineer to join our developing multi-skilled team of innovative engineers.
This is a unique role, providing you with a varied project workload and involvement across all stages of the property life cycle. You can expect to take ownership of your career and client base by providing highly sought-after technical expertise, project management instructions in full '360' style, all the way from inception to completion.
The purpose of this growing team is to deliver measurable improvements of existing M&E systems for our clients (and their portfolios) across sectors such as commercial, industrial, high-end residential and retail/leisure. Sustainability and energy efficiency are at the forefront of project delivery, so you'll collaborate closely with our internal market-leading experts in ESG, Building Forensics, Fire Engineering, Project Management and more.
You will work on exclusive projects alongside some of our most forward-thinking minds, we're on the ball with the latest innovations and lucrative projects including experience with Passiv-Haus, flagship leisure centre refurbishments and multi-million ££ high-end residential flats in the heart of London.
If you’re not chartered through a professional body already, Hollis is CIBSE accredited and can offer extensive experience assisting engineers through their chartership and membership routes and will ensure you’re able to achieve your career aspirations!

Responsibilities
- Support clients by advising on efficiency of their M&E systems through surveys, reports, contractor management and other technical specifications
- Project manage a variety of state-of-the-art M&E refurbishment and optimisation projects such as energy centre/plant room fitouts incorporating net zero carbon technology
- Bridge theoretical M&E design concepts with practical implementation across diverse client projects.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and graduates
- Collaborate with internal ESG and Building Physics teams, external stakeholders, and industry experts to drive high‑quality project outcomes
- Create clear, actionable technical reports, business cases, and client presentations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CRREM, CIBSE, GREEB, etc.) and support ESG reporting.

Extended Responsibilities:
- Command your projects with confidence: take ownership of all stages of instructions and make it your own
- Business development and driving commerciality, including cross-selling of Hollis’ services and effectively manage client relationships
Your Profile
Experience
- Mechanical Engineering degree inclusive of building services modules or equivalent education/practical experience (Master’s level degree preferred)
- Relevant experience in building optimisation, ESG, energy or sustainability consulting
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, BMS operations/Control, building physics, and low-carbon technologies
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA, British Standards/Building regulations etc.)
- Understanding of UK & Ireland building regulations and Net Zero/ESG goals.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Projects, IES, NBS and JCT contracts advantageous
