Transforming B2B Marketing, One Buyer Journey at a Time

Pretzl is redefining what a B2B marketing agency can be. As a B2B Technology-and-People-as-a-Service (TaPaaS) agency with approx. 350 people globally, we're not just advising clients - we're building the technology that transforms how businesses connect with their buyers.

Our flagship product, Journey Lab is changing the game for buyer journey optimisation. We need engineers who care deeply about the problems we're solving, not just the tickets they're assigned.

Role overview

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Journey Lab squad and help us strengthen how the product is shaped, built, and operated.

We are hiring towards the upper end of Senior Engineer level. We’re looking for someone who has already been owning complex and ambiguous work, influencing technical direction, developing other engineers, and improving how a product team delivers.

You’ll be a senior technical contributor within a tight-knit team of four developers, one designer, and one product owner. You’ll own complex initiatives end-to-end, help break larger product opportunities into coherent vertical slices, contribute to the architectural direction of the platform, mentor other engineers, and raise the standard for how we plan, build, review, and ship work.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to be handed fully specified tickets and churn out code. We need an engineer who wants to be involved earlier in the product process, working alongside product and design while problems are still being clarified, trade-offs are being discussed, and the right solution is still emerging.

We already have strong leadership buy-in for a more product-led engineering model. The opportunity here is to help embed that model day to day: bringing engineering judgement into shaping, improving delivery quality, and helping the wider team move away from a ticket-taking mindset towards shared ownership of product outcomes.

Exceptional candidates who demonstrate sustained Staff-level scope and impact may be considered for appointment at Staff Engineer level.

This is a fully remote, UK-based role with the expectation to travel to London approximately once per month. We are not currently hiring this role as an overseas remote position.

As a Senior Engineer at Pretzl, you will:

  • Lead complex product work from early shaping through to production deployment
  • Turn ambiguous product problems into clear technical approaches, sensible delivery plans, and coherent vertical slices
  • Work directly with product leadership, design, and your squad to shape solutions that meet user needs
  • Bring engineering judgement into conversations before work is fully specified, helping clarify gaps, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions within your domain and clearly explain the reasoning behind them
  • Design and build solutions that are maintainable, testable, and appropriately scalable
  • Own delivery quality as well as implementation, ensuring work is meaningfully tested and production-ready
  • Lead debugging efforts for complex issues and identify systemic problems, not just symptoms
  • Create clear technical plans and pull requests that explain the reasoning behind the implementation, not just the code changes
  • Mentor and develop other engineers through pairing, code reviews, feedback, and stretch opportunities
  • Help improve engineering practices, product judgement, technical standards, and delivery effectiveness across the team
  • Use AI development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code thoughtfully, treating them as collaborators rather than shortcuts that bypass understanding
  • Communicate technical concepts, uncertainty, and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to hiring and onboarding activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Strong technical judgement, including pragmatic architectural decisions, clear trade-offs, and sensible management of technical debt

  • Genuine product curiosity, with the ability to challenge, clarify, and shape work constructively alongside product and design
  • Evidence of impact beyond your own code, including mentoring engineers and improving team practices, quality, or delivery
  • Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Confident use of AI development tools, such as Cursor or Claude Code, while maintaining understanding, ownership, and code quality
