Technical Consultant
At ARA Environmental, we're looking for a Technical Consultant to join our team based in Faversham, working with clients across the South-east. About the Role
We're looking for someone who can take responsibility for managing customer accounts while travelling to client sites to inspect, test, and maintain their water systems. You'll be involved in everything from water sampling, temperature monitoring, and closed system analysis through to TMV servicing, cleaning and disinfection, and advising clients on remedial actions, ensuring work is completed professionally and in line with current legislation and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating customer accounts while travelling to client sites across the South East to monitor water systems for hygiene and temperature control, take and analyse water samples, and identify potential issues including risks associated with Legionella bacteria
- Carrying out a range of water hygiene activities including closed system analysis and dosing, TMV servicing, shower descaling, and the physical cleaning and disinfection of water systems, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards
- Working directly with clients to communicate technical findings, provide clear advice on required remedial actions, produce accurate reports, and build strong relationships through a professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
- Continually developing your technical knowledge of approved methods, current legislation, and industry best practice, with the opportunity to broaden your experience into areas such as cooling tower management as your knowledge and capability develop
Requirements
- Previous experience or knowledge within water hygiene, water treatment, plumbing, building services, or a similar technical environment would be beneficial, although ongoing training and development will be provided to support you in the role
- Good communication and report writing skills, with the confidence to interact professionally with customers, explain findings clearly, and maintain accurate records of the work you complete
- A practical and solutions-focused approach, with good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a small team while managing your workload across multiple client sites
- A full valid UK driving licence and a reasonable level of physical fitness, with the flexibility to travel throughout the South East and occasionally work weekends or outside normal working hours when required
