AECOM is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on highways and drainage to join our Development Infrastructure Team in St Albans. This multidisciplinary team delivers residential-led infrastructure projects, from scoping and feasibility to detailed design and construction support. You’ll also work across the UK and Ireland, collaborating with highways, rail, utilities, and solar farm projects, alongside civil and structural engineering specialists.

Your Impact
As a key contributor, you’ll:
- Lead and oversee the technical and digital execution of civil engineering projects
- Coordinate survey specifications, including utilities and topographical surveys
- Develop, review, and design civil infrastructure solutions (drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, flood risk)
- Engage with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to secure project approvals
- Prepare bids, proposals, and technical proposals
- Organsise project workflows through meetings and clear communication

What You’ll Bring
Essential Requirements
- Civil Engineering qualifications: Bachelor’s (BEng) or Master’s (MEng)
- Relevant consultancy experience—especially in highways and drainage design for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in key software:
- InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- ArcGIS (desirable, not essential)
- Useful track record: delivery experience with developers and contractors
- Evidence of adapting to AI and integrated digital solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress toward Incorporated or Chartered (Chartered Engineer) status within the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
- Alternative affiliation: CIWEM (Civil Engineering & Water Management) or CIHT (Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation)
