Create Solutions That Enable a Better Tomorrow

To expand our geotechnical team, we are looking for a Senior Engineer to join us. Working on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, you’ll deliver technically robust and sustainable solutions on projects across the UK.

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Support the management of project risk through interdisciplinary design reviews and resolution of technical findings
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers
  • Ability to take ownership of complex geotechnical challenges from concept through to delivery
  • Lead the production and delivery of geotechnical analyses, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Lead soil–structure interaction analysis for a range of infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on bridge foundations, substructures and retaining walls
  • Review and approve technical outputs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and COWI best practice
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, particularly bridge and structural engineers, to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Ensure adherence to COWI’s Integrated Management System for quality, health & safety, and environmental performance
  • Contribute to resolving complex geotechnical challenges across a range of projects

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. On top of that, you’ll have:

  • MSc or MEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
  • Strong experience in geotechnical design within a consultancy environment
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio (Slope/W, Seep/W) and/or PLAXIS
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret ground investigation data and apply current standards and best practice
  • Experience leading design elements and supporting junior staff development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, high-quality technical reports
  • Site experience is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
