Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Scale
Remote-first | Up to £140,000 + 10% bonus + VSOPS
We’re working with a highly profitable, rapidly growing business operating at the forefront of AI, with around 600 employees and a valuation of close to $10bn.
Established over 10 years ago, the company has built an impressive engineering organisation focused on solving complex problems around scale, performance and distributed systems.
They’ve also recently been named one of the top 50 companies on the pre-IPO watchlist, making this an exciting time to join.
The role
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll be working on systems operating at significant scale, tackling challenges around high throughput, reliability, performance and distributed architecture. The engineering environment is technically strong, with Golang being the preferred language, although experience with Java or Python will also be considered.

What we're looking for
- 6+ years of commercial software engineering experience
- Proven experience working with distributed systems
- Background building highly scalable or high-throughput systems
- Strong understanding of system design, architecture and engineering principles, Golang preferred, although experience with Java or Python will be considered
- Experience working with backend systems at scale
- Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to engineering
- Comfortable working independently within a remote-first environment
