Civil Engineering Recruitment is acting as the recruitment partner for this role. This position is with a leading UK supplier of temporary works equipment, not an internal role within Civil Engineering Recruitment.
We are currently supporting our client with recruitment for the following permanent role:
Senior Engineer (Major Projects)
Job Description
An excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineer with proven experience in structural and geotechnical design to lead complex engineering projects across a range of sectors. This is a hands-on technical and leadership role involving the management of design delivery, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensuring outputs meet relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex engineering schemes (Cat 2 and Cat 3)
- Design bespoke structural and geotechnical products or components
- Mentor, develop and supervise Graduate and Design Engineers
- Act as the technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
- Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with current regulations and industry standards
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the design function
- Support commercial teams with technical advice during project planning and tender stages
- Help shape engineering standards, procedures, and best practice across the business
Key Requirements
- Degree in civil and/or structural engineering or equivalent (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc)
- Minimum of three years' relevant post-graduate experience
- Proven ability to design and check structural and geotechnical schemes to a high standard
- Demonstrable experience leading technically complex engineering projects
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and specialist temporary works design software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
