About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Engineer to join our New Product Engineering Team at JCB World Headquarters. Working on exciting new Mid-Range machine programmes, you'll play a key role in taking innovative engineering concepts from initial design through to prototype development and full production.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet JCB's performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives. You'll work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing functions to introduce new products and components through the JCB New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • Developing new component and system designs from concept through to production release.
  • Producing detailed CAD models and engineering drawings in line with JCB standards.
  • Completing engineering calculations and technical analyses to support design decisions.
  • Creating and maintaining component logs, technical review documentation, and engineering records.
  • Reviewing and evaluating supplier designs, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with JCB requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting technical data, project updates, cost estimates, and programme timing plans.
  • Developing and managing validation, testing, and development plans to ensure robust product performance.
  • Working closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and development engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Supporting prototype builds, endurance testing, and production line trials to validate new designs.
  • Managing engineering activities in line with JCB's New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and project milestones.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in design, processes, and product performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
