Senior Engineer - HS2 Project, Birmingham

The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, offering an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning, and structural techniques.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Utilize a Digital Engineering model to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with the LOR Management of Temporary Works procedure on projects, explaining these procedures to others.
  • Determine the most appropriate methods of dimensional control, seeking advice from specialists when necessary. Ensure setting out data is controlled.
  • Interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD data.
  • Determine the requirement for and format of as-built surveys and reports. Define the scope of surveys to demonstrate compliance.
  • Produce or ensure the production of ITPs (Implementation and Transition Plans) that are available, implemented, and fully address specification and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that project and company quality procedures are adhered to.
  • Utilize and recommend the best engineering methods.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the design process.
  • Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments.
  • Manage procurement.
  • Manage a team of Senior Engineers (project dependant).

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, or an industry-recognized technical or engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
  • Circa 8 years' experience in a Civil Engineering capacity.
