Costain have won extensive work across the water sector this year to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. We have been appointed by United Utilities as one of 7 partners to the Enterprise, delivering £5.5bn of projects in the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) between 2025 – 2030, and AMP 9 (2030 – 2035). Our scope is to provide project management, design, construction, and commissioning services on design and build schemes throughout the Northwest and Cumbria region covered by United Utilities. Projects vary in value, covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets on water and wastewater sites with wider Enterprise partners.

As part of the AMP8 Wigan WwTW is seeing a £230m upgrade which is being delivered by Costain, along with our partners MWH Treatment. Costain scope will see the civils construction, mechanical & electrical fit out & commissioning of a new ASP & MBR plant, the largest in the UK. Scope of works will include (but not limited to); earthworks, pilling, significant reinforced concrete, mechanical pipework & electrical fit out.

Role Overview

The role is to ensure the effective performance of all quality activities against the compliance requirements of project specifications and standards. Endorse and demonstrate good quality attitudes and behaviours in line with the company policy values. Promote and develop a ‘Right First Time’ culture throughout the project. Support the site team, undertake internal audits, and assist with close out actions.
