Job Title: Senior Engineer

Salary:
£47,375
Shift:
Two Rotational - 17% shift allowance
Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm and Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.00pm and Friday 1.00pm to 8.00pm
Duties:
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and manufacturing efficiency across production operations
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive maintenance activities
- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and recurring failures
- Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and operations teams to achieve business objectives
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, waste reduction, and cost efficiency
- Monitor engineering KPIs including downtime, OEE, maintenance response, and asset performance
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures across engineering activities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team including engineers, technicians, and apprentices
- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, performance management, and technical guidance
- Support succession planning and workforce development through structured training and mentoring
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused engineering culture
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Promote safe systems of work and conduct risk assessments where required
- Support audits, compliance inspections, and continuous improvement of safety standards
- Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Control engineering budgets, capital expenditure, and resource planning
- Deliver projects on time and within budget

General responsibilities:
- To lead by example and always demonstrate a professional attitude
- Comply with IT security policy, undertake working duties with ISM requirements i.e., use of appropriate controls for confidential information
- To maintain 5S levels in line with showroom factory conditions
- Adhere to Epson’s Quality, Environmental and H&S policies and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems
- Ensure responsible waste management through waste segregation
- Stay informed about environmental impacts in your role, working to prevent, minimize and report potential pollution incidents, contributing to our commitment to sustainability

Skills required:
- Must have good communication skills both face to face and via various media
- Proficient in Microsoft office products

Qualifications required - essential:
- HNC or NVQ4 in Engineering function
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a senior engineer’s role in manufacturing and/or production
- Strong leadership experience managing engineers, technicians, and apprentices
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, PLCs, conveyors, robotics, or process systems
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
