Senior Engineering Geologist : London

Salary: GBP45,000 : GBP55,000 + benefits

An established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their growing London team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Geologist looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied range of ground investigation projects.

The role will involve a strong mix of site-based investigation, technical reporting and project delivery, working across residential, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

The Role

  • Planning and managing ground investigations from initial scope through to completion
  • Undertaking and supervising site investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and in-situ testing
  • Logging soils and rocks to industry standards
  • Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
  • Reviewing laboratory and field testing results
  • Developing ground models and providing geotechnical interpretation
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
  • Supporting project management, programming and commercial delivery
  • Supervising junior engineers and engineering geologists
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
  • Strong practical experience within ground investigation
  • Experience producing factual and/or interpretative ground investigation reports
  • Good understanding of UK ground conditions and investigation techniques
  • Experience supervising site investigations and working with contractors
  • Strong technical report-writing and communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable
  • Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous
