Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.

Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

The team you will join: Send Experience

Send Experience sits at the heart of every transfer on Wise. It’s where new customers make their first international transfer, where people send money home every month, and where customers using Wise as a primary account move money every day.

Our teams make first transfers simple, with our AI Assistant there to guide customers. We make everyday transfers smart, fast, and effortless, while adding new capabilities to our international account.

More than 15 million customers send money through us every month. You’ll own the Send journey end to end and directly shape the experience at global scale.

This is a product and engineering leadership role. With Product, Design and Analytics, you’ll shape the strategy and roadmap, identify the customer problems that matter most, and decide how to solve them. You’ll also set the technical direction and balance execution speed with quality, security, and long-term scale.

You’ll initially lead two teams through Engineering Leads who report to you, with scope to grow the group further. You’ll coach those leaders and help their teams deliver customer value at pace.

What will you be working on:

  • Defining the product roadmap: You’ll work side-by-side with Product to decide what we build next. You’ll be making the calls between speed, security, and long-term scale.
  • Turning strategy into execution: You’ll set clear outcomes, priorities and ownership, remove blockers and enable fast, reliable delivery without teams depending on you for every decision.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Technical authority: You’ll act as the primary technical owner for Send, with the senior-level technical depth to lead architectural decisions and address technical debt.
  • Operational excellence: You’ll improve reliability, security, and operational health, ensuring the teams proactively manage the services that millions of customers rely on.

Leadership responsibilities:

  • Growing the teams: You will start with two cross-functional, high-output teams with the expectation to scale the group further.
  • People development: You’ll own the performance, career growth, and wellbeing of your Engineering Leads, while remaining accountable for the engineers they lead.
  • Cross-functional alignment: You’ll work closely with Global Product, Regional, and other functions to align our roadmap with the wider Wise strategy. You’ll help the teams navigate complex priorities and make trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk.

What do you need?

  • Experience leading customer-facing engineering: You’ve led teams building apps or websites that make complex problems feel simple.
  • Strong technical background: Experience with backend and client engineering. You understand the difference between "working code" and "scalable architecture."
  • Leadership experience: You have led high-performing teams (hiring, performance management, coaching). You know how to scale your impact through strong Engineering Leads and senior engineers.
  • Product mindset: You understand the "why" behind the "what." You can map technical efforts directly to business goals and customer value.
  • Strategic thinking: You can switch between reviewing a Pull Request and planning the 12-month technical strategy for a critical business domain.
  • Communication: You explain complex technical decisions to non-technical partners, challenge constructively, and build alignment.
