Senior Engineering Manager

Remote UK

Technologies

TypeScript | Node.js | React | MongoDB | PostgreSQL | AWS | EKS | ECS | Lambda | Kubernetes

About the Role

Neulinx have partnered with a growing AI-powered B2B SaaS business looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a small, experienced squad of around 6 Software Engineers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the people side of engineering leadership but doesn’t want to move away from the technology.

You’ll work closely with Product and Design, own delivery across the squad and remain involved in architecture, system design and technical decision-making. You’ll also play an important role in how the wider engineering function adopts AI-first development, from AI-assisted coding and testing through to LLM-powered products and agentic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of around 6 engineers
  • Own sprint planning, prioritisation, delivery and release quality
  • Partner with Product & Design to shape new initiatives and identify technical risks early
  • Remain hands-on with architecture, system design and complex technical challenges
  • Balance new product development with tech debt, refactoring, security and platform health
  • Help modernise legacy systems while maintaining reliable production delivery
  • Drive AI-first engineering practices across development, code review, testing and delivery
  • Collaborate with senior engineering leaders across Platform, Data, AI and Infrastructure
  • Improve reliability and observability across production systems

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Technical Environment

TypeScript | Node.js | React | MongoDB | PostgreSQL | AWS | EKS | ECS | Lambda | Kubernetes | CI/CD | Prometheus | Grafana | Sentry

The wider platform is increasingly AI-driven, so experience or a strong understanding of LLMs, GenAI, AI agents, agentic workflows, MCP and AI-assisted software development would be highly relevant.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong Engineering Manager experience, ideally within B2B SaaS
  • A genuinely hands-on software engineering background
  • Experience delivering complex, production-grade systems
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js/React and cloud experience
  • Confidence influencing architecture beyond your immediate team
  • Strong Product and Design collaboration
  • Experience leading engineers while maintaining technical credibility
  • Genuine enthusiasm for using AI to change how software is built
