About The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and manage engineering activities across a portfolio of projects at Sellafield. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving engineering delivery, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead, coordinate and oversee all design and engineering activities across multiple projects. You'll act as the primary engineering point of contact, managing both internal and external engineering resources while supporting project delivery from pre-construction through to completion.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and manage all engineering functions across a portfolio of Sellafield projects.
  • Act as the principal engineering interface between BBK, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Support bid submissions and work-winning activities, ensuring alignment with project strategy and contractual objectives.
  • Lead and present engineering updates at customer, operational, and business meetings.
  • Develop engineering strategies, design management plans, and design quality plans.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and subject matter experts to deliver project requirements.
  • Ensure engineering documentation and work packs are completed on time, within budget, and are buildable.
  • Identify and implement Modern Methods of Construction, including DfMA and PPMOF solutions.
  • Provide oversight of project planning, programme assurance, risk management, and technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Who we're looking for

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualification or membership within an engineering institution.
  • Chartered status (or working towards) is highly desirable.
  • Significant experience leading engineering functions within regulated industries.
  • Proven track record in the management of multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in design development, design reviews, and engineering governance.
  • Confident managing client relationships and providing technical leadership.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and develop high-performing engineering teams in complex project environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing engineering risks, constraints, and project delivery challenges.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering engineering excellence.
  • Able to obtain a security clearance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
