Senior Engineering Manager

Birmingham / Coventry, UK

Talented people are the key to our success.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our team supporting the delivery of a major National Grid infrastructure programme. Delivered through a collaborative enterprise model involving multiple partners, this is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in the successful delivery of a nationally significant energy project.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across engineering, quality, and information management functions, ensuring technical excellence, governance, and consistency throughout the programme. Operating as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will help drive project performance, support business objectives, and ensure processes and standards are effectively embedded across multiple projects.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale, complex, and long-duration infrastructure programme that will play a vital role in the UK's energy network.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of engineering, quality, and information management functions across the programme.
  • Ensure technical governance, compliance, and best practice are consistently applied throughout project delivery.
  • Function as the link between project teams and the wider business, ensuring alignment with company processes, procedures, and strategic objectives.
  • Support the delivery of programme objectives through effective management of technical and quality requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with delivery partners, stakeholders, and project leadership teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee technical reviews, approvals, and assurance activities to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor programme performance and provide strategic guidance on engineering and quality-related matters.
  • Support risk management activities and provide solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Contribute to senior leadership decision-making and programme-wide improvements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
