Senior Engineering Operations Manager – Building Services

Location: Central London
Salary: £75,000–£85,000 + package
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineering Operations Manager to lead the engineering and technical operations of a prestigious Central London portfolio.
This is a senior operational role suited to an engineering professional with a strong background in commercial building services, critical environments, and facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day engineering operations across a prestigious Central London portfolio.
- Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BMS, critical power, and associated building services.
- Manage and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technical specialists.
- Ensure planned, reactive, and statutory maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently, and within agreed SLAs.
- Take ownership of engineering performance, system reliability, resilience, and operational standards.
- Lead the management of critical engineering incidents, including escalation, recovery, and root-cause analysis.
- Manage specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners, ensuring quality and contractual compliance.
- Work closely with senior client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver a high-quality engineering service.
- Drive continuous improvement, energy efficiency, operational resilience, and engineering innovation.
- Monitor KPIs, compliance, maintenance performance, risks, and engineering trends, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Support commercial management, budgeting, forecasting, and the identification of additional works and improvement projects.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, statutory requirements, and company procedures.

- Strong engineering background within commercial building services or facilities management.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams within a complex or critical environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Experience managing PPM, reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and critical engineering infrastructure.
- Confident managing clients, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering qualification or relevant professional accreditation preferred.
Salary: £75,000–£85,000 + benefits/package
