The Role
AI Labs is a place for innovation, impact and opportunity. You’ll be creating new products & utilising tooling across the generative AI space, working with a team of talented graduates to ideate, co-create and operate full-stack solutions across a broad range of domain areas, both internal and external. Each service and API should be well orchestrated, instrumented and supported allowing them to become part of the wider Dojo ecosystem, ultimately enabling the rest of Dojo to seamlessly integrate these solutions into their work in a safe and understandable way.
We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to own a number of individual workstreams within the MicroPOS project, and provide support & mentorship to the people in their team. They will produce high-quality software that solves real-world problems in secure, innovative and supportable ways. The environment will be dynamic and often exploratory, so a desire to drive results in periods of uncertainty will be required. The role is focused around leading teams of early career individuals, so mentorship, support and guidance will be key attributes in ensuring the success of both the role and the team, with a view to build them into the leaders of tomorrow.

What You Will Do...
- Lead system architecture and design, ensuring solutions are robust, maintainable, and built to scale effectively.
- Own the software delivery lifecycle, championing engineering best practices, thorough code reviews, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor, support, and develop engineers within your team, fostering an inclusive environment where future leaders thrive.
- Partner with product, tech management, and key stakeholders to deliver business objectives with predictability and consistency.
- Drive proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to explore emerging tools and agentic frameworks, using data to inform future architectural decisions.
- Strategically align technical efforts with the product roadmap, proactively identifying opportunities to innovate and optimize system performance.
What You Will Bring...
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing people, fostering individual growth, and acting as an inclusive culture ambassador.
- Strong technical background in senior software engineering across client-side and server-side technologies, with openness across languages (such as Python,.NET, or Java).
- Experience with frontend technologies (such as React and TypeScript) and modern agile practices, including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP).
- Experience with or strong interest in agentic frameworks, such as Google’s ADK, Akka, or LangGraph.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive, resourceful mindset to bridge technical and business needs across diverse stakeholders.
