Help shape the technology strategy behind digital services that support land and property ownership across England and Wales.
HM Land Registry (HMLR) in partnership with Inspire People are looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to provide architectural direction, support decision-making and align technology, information, people and processes across HMLR. Permanent role, salary £59,057 - £72,943 (based on assessment at interview), 28.97% employer pension contribution plus full Civil Service benefits. Flexible, hybrid working from Coventry, Nottingham or Plymouth.

About the Senior Enterprise Architect Role
As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you will work across HM Land Registry to help shape the strategic direction of technology and support major transformation activity. The role focuses on translating business and technology strategy into clear architectural direction, helping the organisation make informed decisions across technology, information, people and processes.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, product teams, delivery colleagues and other architects to understand complex business problems, assess impacts and provide architectural advice and assurance. The role sits within the Enterprise specialism of HMLR’s wider Architecture Practice.
You will take a broad, organisation-wide view, helping to identify risks, opportunities and dependencies while supporting the long-term sustainability of HMLR’s technology estate.
Responsibilities of a Senior Enterprise Architect
- Provide strategic architectural direction, impact analysis and assurance, helping align technology, information, people and processes across the organisation.
- Work closely with stakeholders across HMLR to identify opportunities, risks and dependencies, supporting informed business, technology and data decisions with a focus on reuse, sustainability and scalability.
- Support the Architecture Practice, directorate and wider organisation by managing, modelling and clearly communicating architectural information to help guide effective decision-making.
- Play an active role in developing and maturing enterprise architecture across HMLR, helping the practice deliver shared objectives and support wider organisational goals.

Essential skills of a Senior Enterprise Architect
- Understanding of architectural domains across business, data, technology and security, including assessing the impact of technical change.
- Experience communicating and modelling architecture to align strategic outcomes across technology, information, people and processes.
- Ability to lead and influence diverse stakeholders to reach agreement on technical solutions.
- Experience of architectural governance and assurance, with an understanding of the commercial impact of technology implementation and adoption.
- Structured, top-down thinking, including breaking down complex problems, adapting to change and supporting strategies, principles, patterns and roadmaps.

Office locations
The role is open across 3 of HMLR’s locations: Plymouth, Coventry, Nottingham
Additional Requirements
- HMLR expect everyone to spend 60% of their working time in one of the offices.
- Occasional travel will be required to HMLR offices, supplier sites and other government departments, which may include overnight stays.
- This role operates under the flexible working hours agreement, supporting a positive work-life balance.
- The post is subject to BPPS level clearance.
- This role does not meet the category to offer visa sponsorship.
