Job Summary
It is an exciting time to be joining HM Land Registry (HMLR) as we continue to deliver the ambition set out in our Business Strategy through our transformation portfolio, and as a Senior Enterprise Architect you will play a critical role in ensuring our technology strategy is developed, embedded and followed.
The Architecture Practice sits within the Transformation and Technology directorate and is responsible for developing the strategy and roadmap of technology within HMLR. Architecture roles within the practice are primarily grouped under three specialisms, Enterprise, Technical and Security, with this role sitting within the Enterprise specialism.
Our enterprise architects work across capabilities and are leaders that support the organisation to make informed business decisions, serving as a driving force for the delivery of transformation and technology initiatives. Working with a range of stakeholders to solve complex enterprise business problems and translate strategy into delivery whilst ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation’s technology estate.

Job Description
As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you will provide strategic architectural direction, impact analysis and assurance by understanding the organisation’s ecosystem and its interdependencies, aligning technology, information, people and processes.
- You will network, communicate and advise stakeholders across domains, for example, Customer and Strategy, Service Delivery, Planning and Delivery, in identifying opportunities, influences or risks, guiding the organisation to make appropriate business, technology and data decisions by recommending reuse, sustainability and scalability to deliver maximum value.
- You will provide decision support to the practice, directorate and wider organisation by driving forward our approach to managing, modelling and communicating architectural content.
- You will also play an active part in the architecture practice and understand how to deliver our shared objectives to meet organisational goals by fostering, promoting and maturing enterprise architecture in HM Land Registry.

- Architecture frameworks, for example, TOGAF or Zachman
- Modelling techniques ArchiMate, UML, C4 etc.

Essential Experience Criteria
- An understanding of architectural domains (business, data, technology and security); with the ability to assess the impact of technical change on people, process, technology and data.
- Experience in communicating and/or modelling architectural domains to align strategic outcomes with technology, information, people and processes.
- Leading and influencing diverse groups to get to agreement on a technical solution.
- Experience in architecture governance and assurance processes, for example Design Authority.
- Understanding of the commercial impacts of technology implementation and adoption.
- Top-down thinking and structured, logical decomposition of problems using appropriate modelling techniques and languages.
- Being comfortable with change and ability to multi-task and prioritise work, being able to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
- Supporting or developing strategies, principles, patterns and roadmaps.

HMLR expect everyone to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office.
This role will require regular travel to Plymouth and occasional travel to other offices, external supplier sites and other Government Departments.
