Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine.

Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing:

We’re recruiting for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our SHEQ team in and around Aberdeen.

We are a leading partner in the largest programme of energy infrastructure upgrade works in the UK since the construction of the National Grid. This role is vital to help us deliver our projects and will be working within our overhead line and substation businesses.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day environmental management of high-profile projects, working directly with site teams and customer representatives.

This role is site based as you will be supporting our Scottish clients, although there may be some rare requirements to travel to England and Wales. As this role is site based, we do require you to have a driving licence.

  • Provide specialist support on ecological, environmental and sustainability matters across the business.
  • Identify and address wider environmental risks, offering advice, training, controls and mitigation for site‑based projects.
  • Review technical information and extract key elements to brief and guide site teams.
  • Carry out environmental and ecological surveys during construction and reinstatement phases.
  • Prepare written responses for tender submissions, including risks, opportunities and innovations.
  • Work with specialist partners and internal teams to develop costs, programmes and workable methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and implementation of environmental management procedures and processes.
  • Ensure the business remains legally compliant and drives continual improvement and best practice.
  • Support delivery of sustainability targets and commitments under the company’s Sustainability Strategy.
  • Implement meaningful changes relating to carbon reduction, waste management, workforce upskilling and community benefits.
  • Select and manage third‑party contractors delivering ecological and environmental works.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
