We're looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework team based in Bristol/Wessex region on a 12-month fixed term contract.

40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is a unique opportunity to join our Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework contract supporting flood defence projects across the South West. You'll oversee complex environmental matters, drive sustainability and ensure we're meeting our client's expectations on a complex framework. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on environmentally complex schemes where genuine innovation is being undertaken, and you'll form part of an award-winning team.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you'll be working within the Environment team, supporting them in delivering flood defence projects and embedding sustainability in everything we do.

Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Providing technical advice to project teams on environmental management and ensuring environmental compliance
  • Ensuring effective implementation and reporting of our environmental monitoring regime and audit programme through site visits
  • Liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors on matters of environmental management and sustainability to drive best practice
  • Completing audits and inspections, investigating environmental incidents and implementing controls to prevent recurrence
  • Helping to deliver project level sustainability targets covering environmental compliance, carbon reduction and social sustainability

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Environmental Advisor is great for you if you hold:

  • Experience working in an Environmental Advisor role within the infrastructure or construction sectors
  • Member of a professional body (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, CIWM etc)
  • An understanding of environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities
  • Experience of managing a variety of environmental risks and understanding their impacts in terms of time, cost and regulation
  • An understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcomes for the projects
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and can effectively communicate environmental risks and controls to different audiences
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Full driving licence and can travel across the Bristol/Wessex region to support projects
