The Vacancy
RSK Ireland, part of RSK Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join the team in Belfast - hybrid basis.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) and sits within the Water and EIA team.
RSK Ireland offers a wide range of environmental consultancy services including those related to renewable energy, water, soils, geology, ecology, and biodiversity. Working alongside an experienced team, you will get involved with a vast array of projects predominantly within the renewable energy and infrastructure, water, and housing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing effective project management across a wide range of projects including client liaison, sub-contractor management, risk and commercial management, programme management, and successful project delivery.
- Preparing technical reports to support environmental impact assessments, environmental licensing, and compliance monitoring.
- Coordinating Environmental Sampling & Monitoring programmes.
- Field-based works associated with projects might include arranging and supervision of trial pitting, drilling and geophysical surveys, peat probing, and gouge coring surveys, surface water and groundwater monitoring.
- Mentoring of junior staff members to assist in their development.
- Maintaining and developing technical capability through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Administrative duties including recording of time, invoicing, health and safety, and developing and updating templates.
- Managing responses to requests for tenders and developing proposals.

Person Specification
- Qualified with a relevant environmental or earth science degree (Geoscience, Environmental Science, or similar).
- Relevant professional experience within environmental consultancy, with substantial experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
- Strong understanding of European and Irish environmental legislation, planning policy, and the EIA process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to support business development activities and client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and standard project management tools.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
