Our client is an established environmental consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Environmental Consultant as part of its continued growth across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join a supportive consultancy environment, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of projects while continuing to develop their technical, commercial and project management experience.
Your new role
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for managing environmental projects from initial instruction through to completion. The position offers a varied mix of technical consultancy, site-based work, project management and client engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing environmental projects from initial assessment through to delivery
- Undertaking Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments
- Completing desk-based and intrusive environmental risk assessments
- Planning and coordinating site investigations and fieldwork
- Reviewing and interpreting environmental and site investigation data
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, proposals and scopes of work
- Supporting contaminated land assessment and remediation projects
- Managing project budgets, timescales and commercial requirements
- Coordinating subcontractors and other external project stakeholders
- Maintaining effective communication with clients and relevant third parties
- Ensuring work is undertaken in accordance with environmental legislation, technical standards and health & safety requirements
- Providing technical guidance and support to less experienced colleagues

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Environmental Consultant with a strong background in contaminated land, environmental site assessment or a closely related discipline. You will ideally have:
- Approximately 5+ years' relevant environmental consultancy experience
- Strong Phase I and Phase II site assessment experience
- Experience producing factual and interpretative environmental reports
- Knowledge of contaminated land assessment and environmental risk assessment
- A relevant degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Physical Geography or a related subject
- Good knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and industry guidance
- Strong technical report-writing skills
- Experience managing projects, budgets and competing deadlines
- A commercially aware and client-focused approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A full UK driving licence
