Senior Environmental Technician
Salary: Competitive, plus annual bonus, company car or allowance and other Veolia benefits
Location: Hybrid - covering Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Marchwood, Newhaven and the Isle of Wight.

What you'll be doing:
- Environmental Monitoring Management - Manage the daily schedule, delivery, and reporting of the environmental monitoring programme for three Energy Recovery Facilities in Hampshire, ensuring reports are produced correctly and on time.
- Compliance & Regulatory Communication - Ensure sampling and monitoring comply with Environmental Permit requirements and communicate with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, and Water Companies to maintain compliance.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting - Maintain oversight of ERF SHEQ performance by producing KPIs, monitoring trends, and generating summary reports to track facility performance.
- Contractor & Infrastructure Management - Liaise with and manage third-party contractors for environmental monitoring delivery, and coordinate daily with operational staff to maintain monitoring infrastructure and resolve compliance issues.
- Technical Support & Continuous Improvement - Advise Facility Managers on environmental legislation, conduct contractor audits, coordinate annual reporting across ERFs, and stay current with the latest legislation to support compliance.

- Degree level in a scientific discipline
- Broad knowledge in waste management with extensive knowledge of ERFS understanding the principles and process.
- Problem-solving knowledge.
- Wide knowledge of waste legislation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EA.
- Communication and interpersonal skills are very important.
