Job Description
Senior EPOS Data Administrator
As a Senior EPOS Data Administrator, my core purpose is to:
The Senior EPOS Data Administrator is responsible for leading the EPOS Data Administration team and overseeing the effective delivery of EPOS data administration across the business. The role ensures EPOS data is accurate, controlled, and delivered within agreed timescales, providing expert guidance and oversight across key EPOS activity.

The role is responsible for setting priorities, allocating workload, monitoring performance, and ensuring agreed service levels are achieved. Acting as the key escalation point for complex EPOS data and system issues, the Senior EPOS Data Administrator uses judgment and expertise to resolve problems and minimize operational impact.
The role also drives continuous improvement, strengthens data controls, and develops best practice, working collaboratively with stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure the EPOS data service continues to meet business requirements.

Accountabilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the EPOS Data Administration team, setting clear expectations and supporting individual and team performance.
- Plan, allocate, and prioritize workloads, ensuring accurate and timely delivery against business priorities and agreed service levels.
- Provide expert oversight of EPOS data administration, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and changes are accurately deployed.
- Act as the key escalation point for complex EPOS data and system issues, using judgment and expertise to resolve problems and minimize operational impact.
- Take ownership of EPOS data quality, identifying recurring issues and implementing appropriate corrective and preventative controls.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
- Make day-to-day decisions regarding priorities, resource allocation, and issue resolution, escalating significant risks where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and third-party suppliers to understand requirements and support effective delivery.
- Promote best practice, knowledge sharing, and consistent ways of working across the team.

Person Specification – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to build positive working relationships and influence key stakeholders across the business.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how accurate EPOS data supports wider business performance.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to guide, motivate, coach, and develop a team.
- Resilient and calm under pressure, making sound decisions and maintaining high standards during busy periods, with the confidence and capability to lead and support others.
- Proactive approach to personal development and continuous improvement, with a positive and solution-focused mindset.
- Takes ownership and accountability for delivering work to a high standard.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with a good working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Previous experience working with EPOS systems is essential.
- Experience of data administration, or retail systems administration is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
Financial administration experience or an interest in finance would be beneficial but is not essential.
