Role Description
The Senior Equity & ETF Operations role is a full-time position based in Greater London with a hybrid working model that combines office-based and work-from-home arrangements. The individual in this role will oversee end-to-end operational processes for equity and ETF trades, including trade capture, confirmation, allocation, settlement, and reconciliation across multiple venues and counterparties. Responsibilities include daily monitoring of trade flows, resolving breaks and discrepancies, managing corporate actions and lifecycle events, and ensuring accurate client reporting. The role involves close collaboration with trading, sales, risk, compliance, and technology teams to support efficient execution, manage operational risk, and maintain robust control frameworks. The Senior Equity & ETF Operations professional will also contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and implementation of best practices to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete trade lifecycle for Equity and ETF transactions, from execution through to settlement.
- Monitor daily trade support activities, ensuring timely affirmation, matching and settlement across multiple markets.
- Investigate and resolve trade exceptions, settlement fails, breaks and unmatched trades.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations across custodians and counterparties.
- Manage corporate actions, static data maintenance and operational controls.
- Monitor and manage settlement risk across EMEA and US markets.
- Manage daily EMEA and US funding requirements, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet settlement obligations.
- Oversee CSDR settlement discipline, including late matching, settlement fails, cash penalties and remediation activities.
- Liaise with traders, brokers, custodians, market makers, Authorised Participants (APs) and clearing houses to resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Ensure operational processes comply with internal controls, market regulations and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Support new product launches, operational change initiatives and process enhancements.
- Produce operational MI and reporting where required.
- Assist with UAT testing and implementation of new systems, workflows and operational enhancements.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within ETF Operations.
- Strong experience across Equity and ETF Operations within a broker-dealer, investment bank, trading firm or asset manager.
- Excellent understanding of the end-to-end Equity and ETF trade lifecycle.
- Experience supporting both primary and secondary ETF market activity.
- Strong knowledge of settlement cycles across UK, European and US markets.
- Proven experience working with CSDR, including settlement discipline, cash penalties, settlement fails and late matching.
- Experience managing EMEA and US funding, including liquidity management, settlement funding and cash forecasting.
- Strong experience managing reconciliations, trade breaks, corporate actions and settlement investigations.
- Working knowledge of settlement and clearing infrastructures including DTC, Euroclear and CREST.
- Experience working with Authorised Participants (APs), custodians, brokers, market makers and clearing houses.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across Front Office, Operations and external counterparties.
- Ability to prioritise workload and perform under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
