About the Role
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior HR Advisor to support the Technology/IT function within a large corporate organisation. Reporting into the HR Business Partner for the area, this is a hands-on, operational role with a significant employee relations focus.
This is a hands-on ER and generalist HR role, with employee relations at its core. You’ll work closely with managers, senior leaders and Directors, providing practical, commercially focused advice across complex people matters, while also supporting the wider people agenda.
You’ll report to a Strategic HR Business Partner and work closely with our wider HR team, including HR Shared Services and Centres of Excellence.
What You'll Do
- Provide expert advice and coaching on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence matters.
- Coach and challenge managers, helping them take ownership and build confidence in managing their people.
- Support senior leaders with complex people matters, organisational change and restructures.
- Provide broader generalist HR support across performance, talent, succession, wellbeing and employee engagement.
- Support consultation and change activity, working with HR Operations and Payroll to ensure smooth implementation.
- Analyse ER and absence trends to identify themes, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support manager capability through workshops, skills sessions and practical guidance.
- Contribute to HR projects, initiatives and continuous improvement across the function.
- Build strong relationships across a geographically dispersed, multi-site and matrixed organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
