Scope of Role
Our ERP Finance Implementation Consultants have ultimate responsibility for the smooth implementation of GenetiQ software and related financial solutions for our customers. The Consultant will be the product and finance process expert, leading design discussions focused on core accounting and financial operations, guiding clients on best practices, performing software configuration, providing training to customers, supporting issues, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with all internal and external project stakeholders to ensure a successful implementation of GenetiQ.
- Lead workshops to gather requirements and assist in defining a blueprint and financial project plan, with a focus on financial process mapping such as general ledger, chart of accounts, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reporting.
- Act as the subject matter expert for financial modules during the implementation lifecycle, including scoping, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
- Ensure the project is defined, designed, and configured effectively to best support the customer’s needs.
- Validate that the customer understands the specifications of the software, such as inclusions and exclusions.
- Liaise with customers to define requirements, configurations, and specifications for modifications to the software or integrations with external applications.
- Assist the development team with understanding of specifications during the development of modifications, and subsequently test and document developed changes.
- Become an expert in GenetiQ, our newly launched browser-based ERP platform, to educate and advise customers on best practices.
- Provide expert input to Project Manager, including comprehensive task definition on project plan, estimation of work duration, identification of potential risks, etc.
- Train colleagues in the operation of software to ensure a smooth hand over of projects to the support function.
- Train the customer’s project team and provide knowledge transfer in the operation of software.
- Deliver specialized training in financial modules, as well as demonstrations to support pre-sale consultancy.
- Advise customers on financial best practices, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax rules, and internal controls.
- Take responsibility within an implementation to ensure all customer documentation is completed, that a pre-live checklist is prepared, and that the customer is ready to go live.
- Assist in the data migration ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) process from the legacy system to GenetiQ ensuring accuracy of open balances, historical transactions, and relevant master data.
- Resolve, or assist in the resolution of, customer questions and issues arising from the implementation and subsequent live operation of software at customer sites.
- Attend project meetings when required, internally or with clients, to gain or impart knowledge on current status of projects and to document details.
- Complete all relevant project management documentation and help with standardization.
- Remain engaged with customers after go-live to provide support and ensure continuity of experience.
- Daily timesheet completion in line with company procedures.
- Ensure project work is appropriately billed to the customer.
- Escalate any complexities to the relevant teammate, department, or manager.
- Live the core values and take responsibility for ensuring an experience of excellence for the customer.
- Collaborate with the customer to professionally and proactively manage change.
- Influence the customer to follow a process that will help with the smooth transition to GenetiQ.

Education & Experience

- 5+ years experience within an equivalent role.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a concentration in business or tech.
- CPA or financial certifications a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, balancing several concurrent projects.
- Can present professionally at a senior level and ensure the presentations are focused on the customer’s needs.
- Willingness to travel on-site to customers as needed.
- Willingness to work outside regular business hours on occasion.
- Experience working across ERP functional areas.
- Strong understanding of financial standards and compliance.
- Experience within the Building Materials Supply Chain industry is a plus.
