This is an opportunity to join Vanguard’s Regulatory Programme Office, supporting the firm in responding to evolving sustainability requirements and delivering clear, credible, and consistent ESG reporting.

The role will contribute to assessing and implementing regulatory change, supporting sustainability disclosures, strengthening governance and controls, and improving the processes through which ESG requirements are delivered. The successful candidate will work across global and European teams, translating complex requirements into practical business outcomes and supporting the continued development of Vanguard’s sustainability capabilities.

In This Role You Will:

  • Translate complex requirements and analysis into practical recommendations, detailed documentation, and concise executive-level communications.
  • Partner with stakeholders across investment management, stewardship, legal, compliance, risk, data, distribution, technology, and operations.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to define requirements, resolve issues, and develop effective implementation solutions.
  • Support appropriate governance and oversight, including documenting decisions, escalating risks, and preparing materials for relevant governance forums.
  • Review ESG data, methodologies, assumptions, and supporting information, challenging where necessary to promote quality and transparency.
  • Help develop scalable processes, governance arrangements, and technology-enabled solutions that support effective sustainability reporting and change delivery.
  • Coach and support junior colleagues, sharing good practice across business analysis, project delivery, and sustainability reporting.
  • Build a strong understanding of Vanguard’s sustainability approach, operating model, and wider industry context.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
