Senior Estimator

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + package

Location: Milton Keynes / Buckinghamshire

The Role

You will join a busy preconstruction team working on a mix of new build, refurbishment, alteration, and fit-out projects up to £20m. Work spans multiple sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Community, Industrial, Leisure & Retail, and Commercial Buildings. Working hours: 8.30am - 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.

A key part of the role will include mentoring and supporting an Assistant Estimator, helping them develop their technical skills, commercial awareness, and confidence within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing cost plans, tenders, and estimates
  • Leading the estimating process across multiple projects
  • Working closely with design, commercial, and operational teams
  • Liaising with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing
  • Providing guidance and day-to-day support to an Assistant Estimator
  • Supporting junior team members where required

About You

  • Experienced Estimator within the construction industry
  • Background working for a main contractor on new build or refurbishment schemes
  • Self-directed, organised, and highly motivated
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
