Senior Estimator – MEP / Power Solutions
Central London | £80,000–£90,000 + Travel Allowance + Bonus
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join a business at the forefront of generator and power supply solutions within the data centre sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly technical business working on some of the most demanding power infrastructure projects in the market.
Data centre experience is not essential. We're more interested in finding someone with a strong MEP estimating background, ideally gained on large and technically complex projects.
You could come from a main contractor, specialist subcontractor or equipment / power solutions supplier — what matters is your ability to understand complex MEP requirements, build accurate tenders and work effectively within a fast-paced team.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for preparing tenders for projects with values of around £150m, working closely with commercial, engineering and operational teams to develop competitive and technically robust bids. This role will suit someone who enjoys the challenge of winning work and wants to play a genuine role in the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for major projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scope requirements.
- Develop accurate and commercially competitive estimates.
- Build detailed cost plans and pricing models.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal technical teams to obtain accurate pricing.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
- Work closely with engineering and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
- Challenge assumptions and ensure estimates are robust and achievable.
- Support tender presentations and client discussions where required.
- Contribute to improving estimating processes, systems and best practice.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and project stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
