We are working exclusively with a leading Tier 1 contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects across the North West. Due to continued growth and a robust pipeline of secured and negotiated work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute estimating professional looking to play a key role in securing major projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial, and public sector frameworks.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Pre-Construction, you will lead the estimating function on bids ranging from £10m to £150m+, managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to submission.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation of detailed cost estimates for major construction projects.
  • Managing single-stage and two-stage tender submissions.
  • Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer requirements.
  • Developing competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability.
  • Coordinating subcontractor and supplier enquiries and evaluating returned quotations.
  • Identifying project risks and opportunities and incorporating them into tender submissions.
  • Working closely with design, planning, commercial, and operational teams during the bid process.
  • Presenting cost plans and tender recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Supporting client meetings, framework negotiations, and pre-construction presentations.
  • Mentoring and developing junior estimators within the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
