We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Estimator to join the growing Facades & Cladding division of an established SME Main Contractor.
The role will focus predominantly on residential high-rise façade and cladding remediation projects, with a strong pipeline of tender opportunities through Housing Association frameworks and private sector clients.
The successful candidate will take the lead on tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover, working closely with the Commercial, Design and Operations teams to produce accurate, competitive and commercially robust bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess tender documentation, drawings, specifications and amendments.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using subcontractor tender returns, measured quantities and applied rates.
- Undertake take-offs and analyse drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
- Source, negotiate and obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend mid-tender and post-tender meetings with clients and subcontractors.
- Assess tender risks, including gaps or omissions within client information.
- Review logistics, programme durations, preliminaries and project-specific constraints.
- Carry out site visits to assess project requirements and preliminaries.
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager, Head of Design and Head of Operations throughout the tender process.
- Complete Forms of Tender, tender letters, qualifications and Contract Sum Analysis/Schedules.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and value creation.
- Prepare comprehensive handover documentation following successful tender awards.
- Attend handover meetings and brief the operational and commercial teams on the tender submission.

About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the construction industry.
- Proven estimating experience within facades, cladding and/or remedial works.
- Experience of residential high-rise projects would be particularly advantageous.
- Strong estimating skills and commercial awareness.
- Experience using on-screen take-off software such as Bluebeam.
- The ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender information.
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
