About the Company
This established Bedford-based manufacturer designs, manufactures and installs specialist security products for the UK construction industry. Its products include ballistic, blast-resistant and healthcare doors, walls, windows and louvres, used across government, healthcare and critical-infrastructure projects.
The business has a stable team, a practical management style and a supportive working environment. Continued growth has created an opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join its commercial team in Bedford and take the lead on detailed tenders for specialist manufactured products and installation packages.
Senior Estimator Role
As Senior Estimator, you will manage tenders from the initial enquiry through to final submission. You will prepare accurate material, labour, manufacturing and installation costs, obtain supplier and subcontractor prices, identify commercial risks and work with sales, production and project teams to build competitive bids. You will also support less experienced estimators and help maintain a consistent approach across the department.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
