Senior Estimator – Civils, Rail & Power

Location: England – regional flexibility
Working: Hybrid
Sector: Infrastructure, Construction & Energy
Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Opportunities

We are currently recruiting for two Senior Estimator opportunities within growing infrastructure businesses. These roles would suit experienced Estimators who are ready to take the next step into a Senior Estimator position, as well as established Senior Estimators looking for a new challenge.

1. Civils, Rail & Infrastructure

This opportunity focuses on major civils and infrastructure projects, with responsibility for estimating and supporting the wider pre-construction and work-winning process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed estimates and cost plans
  • Developing first-principles estimates
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Supporting tender submissions and bid strategy
  • Working closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
  • Supporting pre-construction and work-winning activities

2. Power & Transmission / Distribution

This opportunity sits within a growing Power & Energy business and focuses on civil and building works associated with Transmission & Distribution infrastructure. The role will support projects including substation infrastructure, control buildings, foundations, drainage, ducting, earthworks, compounds, and associated civils works.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing civil and building estimates for Power T&D projects
  • Developing detailed first-principles estimates and cost plans
  • Supporting PQQs and tender enquiries
  • Reviewing technical drawings and specifications
  • Engaging with the supply chain to obtain competitive pricing
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
  • Contributing to tender strategies across a national portfolio

About You

We are interested in speaking with Estimators who have a strong background in:

  • Civils
  • Rail
  • Infrastructure
  • Utilities
  • Power / Energy
  • Transmission & Distribution

For the Power opportunity, experience across T&D, utilities, distribution, or substation civils would be particularly relevant.
