Senior Estimator – Highways

Are you ready to take your estimating expertise to the next level? At Octavius, we're looking for a talented Senior Estimator to join our dynamic highways team. If you thrive on the challenge of competitive tendering and want to make your mark on major civils, pavements, drainage, earthworks, and structures projects, this is your opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure across England.

  • Preparing accurate and timely cost estimates that reflect project requirements, site conditions, and client needs.
  • Developing cost plans, order of magnitude budgets, and design-to-cost budgets.
  • Analysing method-related costs and temporary works in collaboration with project teams.
  • Compiling tender summaries, risk registers, and contributing to written methodologies and proposals.
  • Presenting commercial strategies at adjudication meetings and handing over successful bids to delivery teams.
  • Continuously seeking feedback and driving business improvement initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
