Senior Estimator

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our high-performing Bidding and Estimating team, playing a pivotal role in shaping how major infrastructure projects are secured and delivered.
Location: Based from either our Shifnal or Newport office.
Core Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with design, commercial, and operational teams to develop smart, competitive, and cost-effective solutions. This includes:
- Preparing accurate, well-structured, and commercially sound first-principle cost estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Working collaboratively to develop robust and competitive tenders while ensuring projects remain deliverable and cost-effective.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Engaging with the supply chain to secure quotations and informed, buildable, market-tested pricing.
- Supporting bid submissions, reviews, and tender clarification meetings.
- Ensuring consistent estimating standards, systems, and governance across all bids.

- Civil engineering professionals transitions from roles such as:
- Quantity Surveyors
- Planners
- Engineers
- Experienced site-based professionals (water, environmental, and energy sectors)

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating or a strong civil engineering background within construction or infrastructure.
- Commercial awareness coupled with a high attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract and procurement processes.
- Ability to analyse complex information and communicate findings clearly and confidently.
- A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn, develop, and contribute to a high-performing team.
