Why join us?
ACS is a people-first business, committed to investing in our workforce and creating a truly great place to work. Our dedication has been recognised through our Investors in People Gold accreditation; successfully retained for over 12 years ACS was also the first construction company in the Northwest to attain this prestigious standard, reflecting our ongoing commitment to excellence and employee development
Alongside this, we are committed to supporting young people from all backgrounds, inspiring a passion for construction through education, practical experience, and employment brokerage. We are particularly proud that over 10% of our workforce is currently engaged in apprenticeships, helping us to build future talent and leave a legacy of skills and knowledge within the communities in which we proudly work.
Who we are?
ACS Construction Group Ltd is a leading UK construction services group, with over thirty years of experience delivering complete solutions through our five dedicated business divisions: ACS Construction, ACS Developments, ACS Contracting, ACS Energy, and ACS Groundworks.
We support a broad and diverse client base, including organisations such as GE Vernova, National Grid, KNDS, Siemens Energy and TATA British Steel, demonstrating our capability to deliver across both public and private sectors.
It is ACS’s high-performing approach that continues to drive strong levels of repeat business and sustained growth. With a robust order book and an expanding pipeline across several emerging sectors, we are well-positioned for continued success and are actively seeking talented individuals to join our team.
What will you do?
The Estimator will ensure ACS Construction Group secures profitable and sustainable work by producing accurate, competitive and commercially robust tenders across civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure projects. Working closely with operational, commercial and delivery teams you will help identify opportunities, develop winning tender submissions and support the continued growth of the business.
Why is this role for you?
Unlike many estimating roles that involve high volumes of competitively tendered projects and a race to the lowest price, ACS operates a relationship-led business model. Most of our work is secured through long-term partnerships and repeat customers within specialist sectors where we have an established reputation and proven track record.
Our estimating approach is collaborative and focused on delivering value, buildability and programme certainty, rather than simply competing on price. Whilst competitive tenders form part of the role, opportunities are typically pursued against a select number of competitors rather than large-scale open market bids, allowing you to focus on quality submissions and strategic thinking.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
