Renowned for our craftsmanship, attention to detail and ability to deliver complex and bespoke environments, we work with leading architects, designers and clients to bring ambitious spaces to life.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our pre-construction team, based from our Redditch office. Candidates will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance of Redditch.
The Role
Reporting to the Estimating Director, you will play a key role within our pre-construction team, leading the preparation of accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates for complex fit-out and interior construction projects.
Working closely with clients, designers, consultants, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and our internal project teams, you will take ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final tender submission.
Alongside managing your own tenders, you will provide leadership within the estimating function, helping to shape tender strategy, supporting complex and high-value bids, and providing guidance and mentoring to other members of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of detailed cost estimates, cost plans and tender submissions for complex specialist fit-out and interior projects.
- Taking ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final tender submission.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and design information to establish project scope and develop accurate costs and budgets.
- Analysing construction methods, technical requirements, programme implications, procurement routes and commercial risks.
- Developing tender strategy and identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation while protecting design intent and quality.
- Preparing detailed pricing breakdowns, tender clarifications and supporting documentation.
- Coordinating estimating inputs from commercial, design, delivery and other internal teams.
- Sourcing, evaluating and comparing quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Reviewing subcontractor proposals to ensure scope alignment, technical compliance and cost accuracy.
- Developing strong relationships with trusted trade partners, specialist suppliers and the wider supply chain.
- Working closely with clients, architects, designers and consultants to understand project requirements and design intent.
- Participating in pre-tender meetings, site visits, design reviews and tender clarification meetings.
- Supporting pre-construction strategy on complex or high-value opportunities.
- Contributing to the development of estimating standards, cost libraries and benchmarking information.
- Providing technical guidance, support and mentoring within the estimating team.
- Supporting the effective transition of successful tenders from pre-construction into project delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
