Job Title: Senior Estimator - Public Sector, Social Housing & Property Services
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
About Us:
Westone Housing Ltd is a leading property refurbishment, maintenance and adaptation contractor based in Peterborough. Working across the Insurance, Commercial and Public Sector markets, we deliver high-quality repair, refurbishment and maintenance services through our directly employed workforce and approved contractor network.
Our Public Sector Department partners with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Registered Providers to improve homes and communities through the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, adaptations, compliance works, decarbonisation programmes and property refurbishment services.
Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of opportunities, we are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Estimator to join our team.
About the Role:
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound pricing submissions across a diverse range of public sector, social housing, commercial and insurance-related projects.

Working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners and senior leadership, you will play a crucial role in securing new business and ensuring contracts are tendered profitably and sustainably.
Typical Project Bids Include:
- Responsive repairs and maintenance contracts
- Planned maintenance programmes
- Void property refurbishment contracts
- Housing adaptations and DFG works
- Damp, mould and condensation remediation
- Housing disrepair projects
- Kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes
- Retrofit and decarbonisation projects
- Domestic and Commercial Extensions <£1M
- Domestic and Commercial New Build <£1M
- Academic refurbishment and upgrade projects <£1M
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications.
- Develop labour, material and subcontractor costings.
- Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Support bid submissions and client presentations.
- Participate in tender reviews and adjudications.
- Provide handover information following contract award.

About You:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator.
- Experience pricing refurbishment, maintenance or planned works contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
