Location: Scotland / Remote with occasional travel

Sector: Civil Engineering

It's easy to claim that a role offers genuine long-term security, flexibility, and a consistently strong pipeline of work, but you need to be able to demonstrate that.

This business is a highly respected infrastructure and civil engineering business with an excellent reputation built on long-standing client relationships—many developed and maintained over decades. With secured and upcoming work across a diverse range of frameworks and sectors, they are looking to appoint a Senior Estimator to strengthen their preconstruction team.

The opportunity

You will take a leading role in producing robust, commercially sound estimates from first principles. You will assess opportunity, client requirements, and risk, working closely with operational teams, Bid Managers, Planners, and senior stakeholders throughout the tender process.

You will also support the transition from successful bid to delivery, ensuring site teams have a clear understanding of the estimate, methodology, and key assumptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates in line with company procedures and tender requirements.
  • Build tender submissions from first principles, including labour, plant, materials, subcontract packages, preliminaries, and risk allowances.
  • Identify opportunities, commercial risk, and key assumptions throughout the tender process.
  • Work closely with operational teams to agree on the proposed methodology, programme requirements, and delivery principles.
  • Liaise with Bid Managers, Planners, Designers, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear tender estimate files, assumption registers, and supporting documentation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Company Offers

  • A strong, stable, and varied pipeline of work across multiple infrastructure sectors and frameworks.
  • Long-standing client relationships and a reputation for quality, collaboration, and delivery.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the ability to work remotely from across Scotland or further afield, with only occasional visits required.
  • A senior role with real influence across bid strategy, preconstruction, and project delivery.
  • A benefits package that is notably stronger than the industry standard.
  • The security and development opportunities that come with joining a successful, forward-thinking contractor.
