THE COMPANY

Our client is an entrepreneurial brokerage firm based in the West End, seeking an experienced settlements professional to join our Equity & ETF Operations team.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the full ETF trade lifecycle, from trade capture through to final settlement.
  • Serve as the team's subject matter expert on ETF settlement processes, mechanics, and market conventions.
  • Investigate and resolve settlement fails, trade discrepancies, and breaks in collaboration with traders, Authorised Participants (APs), and custodians.
  • Manage settlement activity across DTC, Euroclear, CREST, and other relevant clearing and settlement systems.
  • Handle ETF-related corporate actions, creation/redemption activity, and static data maintenance.
  • Ensure settlement processes comply with market standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities within settlement operations.
  • Liaise directly with brokers, custodians, and clearing houses to ensure timely and accurate settlement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of five years' experience in settlements operations within a financial institution.
  • Specific, demonstrable expertise in ETF settlements — this is essential rather than preferred.
  • Background at a well-regarded investment bank or market maker, with direct, hands-on involvement in ETF settlement operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of settlement cycles, corporate actions, and reconciliations.
  • Solid understanding of DTC, Euroclear, CREST, and other clearing and settlement systems.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex settlement issues independently and under time pressure.
  • A track record of identifying and delivering process and operational improvements.
