About us

CardioMind Research Consultancy is a specialist research and evaluation organisation working on high-quality, policy-relevant evaluations for government and public sector clients. We are expanding our team of senior associates to support upcoming large-scale, multi-year evaluation programmes.

The role

We are looking for experienced Senior Evaluation Specialists to join us on a flexible contract / associate basis. You will play a senior role in the design and delivery of complex evaluations, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead strands of process and/or impact evaluation
  • Contribute to evaluation framework design and Theory of Change development
  • Design and oversee mixed-methods research
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and policy clients
  • Produce high-quality analysis and reports to publishable standard
  • Support quality assurance and methodological robustness across projects

We are particularly interested in candidates with senior experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clean energy, energy systems or net zero innovation
  • Health and care innovation / digital health
  • Crime prevention, violence reduction or justice programmes
  • Education, special educational needs or youth employment

Essential requirements

  • 8–15+ years’ experience in evaluation or applied research
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-strand evaluations for government, research councils or major public funders
  • Strong skills in process evaluation and/or impact evaluation
  • Experience working with Theory of Change and mixed methods
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a senior team
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience of large-scale or multi-year programme evaluations
  • Experience working on innovation, public service, or policy-focused programmes
  • Familiarity with Magenta Book standards
